Pavla Gomba, UNICEF Czech Republic

Pavla Gomba has been working as the executive director of UNICEF Czech Republic for 24 years. She is a member of the DMS Council at the Forum of Donors, the Committee for Legislation and Financing of the Government Council for NGOs, etc. As a mentor, she cooperates with the Business Leaders Forum and Business Professional Women Prague. Pavla has participated in a number of humanitarian missions to areas of conflict and war, including in Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Mali, the Central African Republic, Cambodia and Myanmar. She regularly lectures and publishes on current topics in the field of development programs, security and international events. Based on her experiences from trips to crisis areas, she published the book “Do you hear us?”. She has been continuously ranked among the most influential women in the Czech Republic by Forbes magazine since the launch of the ranking.

Pavla graduated in finance and human resource management at the Prague University of Economics and Business. In 2020, she received her doctorate with a dissertation on the topic of “Modelling the risks of terrorism” at VSB-TUO. In the past, she worked as a financial analyst at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce and in the commercial department of the Danish Embassy in Prague. She also worked in the finance department of the municipality of Masvingo in Zimbabwe.
